Matthew Trusler
Over a twenty year career Matthew Trusler developed a reputation as one of Britain’s leading violinists, performing at the BBC Proms and regularly appearing as soloist with major orchestras around the world. In 2005 Matthew founded the record label Orchid Classics, which has established itself as a significant creative force and recorded many of the world’s major artists. Highlights have included winning a Latin Grammy Award with Gabriela Montero, a BBC Music Magazine Award with Elena Urioste and Tom Poster’s Jukebox Album, and A Classic Brit nomination for pianist Boris Giltburg. In October 2018 Orchid released a single written by Jools Holland, in order to raise money for a children’s charity. The single went straight to No.1 in the iTunes chart.
James Brown
James Brown studied the viola at the Royal College of Music and was then a member of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He founded artist agency Hazard Chase Limited in 1990. In 2017 he was appointed Chairman of Artium Media Relations Limited. In 2020 he founded James Brown Management. He has been a speaker at numerous international conferences including Midem Classique, the Association of British Orchestras, the China Shanghai International Arts Festival Forum, the American Symphony Orchestra League and IAMA. James was Chairman of the International Artist Managers’ Association from 2003-2005. In May 2007 he became an Honorary Member of the Royal College of Music and in April 2012 he was made an Honorary Life Member of the International Artist Managers’ Association. In 2013 he received the Association of British Orchestras/Rhinegold Publishing award for Artist Manager of the Year.
Mark Wilkinson
Mark Wilkinson spent over 28 years with Universal Music in a variety of roles, working mainly in classics and jazz, and including time with Deutsche Grammophon in Berlin and Decca in London. Most recently, he founded MW Music and Artists, undertaking project and strategy work on behalf of artists, labels and agencies operating in the world of classical music and beyond.
Patrick Allen
Patrick read Electroacoustics at the University of Salford and trained with BBC TV and Radio. His career has centred on his work as a recording producer and filmmaker, where he has enjoyed working with some of the world’s finest artists, labels and broadcasters. He is also a composer, with scoring for films, computer games and personal projects an increasingly important part of his work.
